Individual Therapy

What to Expect

To begin, please reach out via phone, email, or directly from the website. In your message, please include your phone number and you will receive a call back within 24 business hours to have a brief phone consultation.

This brief 15-20 minute phone consultation provides space for you to share what brings you to therapy, what you hope to get out of therapy, and ask any questions you may have for your therapist. This phone call also offers the opportunity for you and the therapist to see if you are a fit with one another.

If you move forward with therapy, you will be provided with paperwork to complete. This paperwork will include consents, policies, and request a little more information about what brings you into therapy. You will also schedule an intake assessment. This will be a one hour session where your therapist will ask you questions about yourself and the reasons you have decided to seek out therapeutic services at this time. This is an important step, where your therapist will learn about and establish an understanding of your goals and better understand what brings you to therapy. Your therapist will also take this time to review confidentiality, practice policies, and insurance/payment methods.

Next, you will schedule future upcoming therapy sessions. Your therapist may ask you to complete a small “homework assignment” between sessions, this may include, journaling, reading, mindfulness exercises, or practicing a behavior changes.

Therapy is an environment where you are encouraged to be yourself. Always feels free to share any questions, needs, preferences, or feedback. Therapy is your time and you deserve to have a space that feels right for you.
